Upgrading from an older Nuki lock to Go, Pro, or Ultra means moving to next-generation connectivity, speed, and standards (Matter, Thread) while keeping your existing Euro-profile cylinder intact. The key decisions: which model fits your daily use and budget, and how to manage your app account and reinstallation correctly.
Do I need to replace my door or cylinder to upgrade?
No. All new-generation Nuki models (Go, Pro 5th Gen, Ultra) mount tool-free to the inside of your existing cylinder. No door, lock, or cylinder replacement needed. All models are compatible with Euro-profile cylinders. Ultra additionally supports Swiss round-profile cylinders and offers a Universal Cylinder option.

Which model for which use case?
- Smart Lock Go (9,990 TL) — Entry-level, compact. Built-in Wi-Fi and Thread, Matter compatible. Phone access and Auto Unlock. Remote access enabled via one-time add-on. For budget-conscious buyers and first-time smart lock users.
- Smart Lock Pro (5th Gen) (17,590 TL) — Bridge-free remote access via built-in Wi-Fi. Stainless-steel body, adjustable lock speed, 5-minute installation. For users who want remote access on by default without additional hardware.
- Smart Lock Ultra (21,990 TL) — Nuki's smallest and fastest lock. Brushless motor, Matter over Thread, quiet operation, fastest lock/unlock in the lineup. For users who want the most advanced, compact experience and the latest standards.
What to watch for when upgrading
Three areas to address:
- Your app account. New lock setup is done through the Nuki app. Continue with your existing account; add the new device and reconfigure your access and automation preferences for the new model.
- Connectivity infrastructure. If you were using a separate Bridge with an older model, note that Pro 5th Gen includes bridge-free remote access via built-in Wi-Fi, and Go activates remote access via a one-time add-on. Clarify before upgrading which model covers your remote access needs without a Bridge.
- Protocol compatibility. All three new models are Matter compatible; Ultra adds Matter over Thread. If upgrading your smart home setup to current standards is a goal, this is one of the strongest reasons to upgrade now.
How does reinstallation work?
Mechanical installation is the same tool-free, reversible process as the previous generation: remove the old lock, mount the new one on the same cylinder, run the app onboarding flow. For Smart Lock Pro 5th Gen, installation time is approximately 5 minutes. All models are tool-free and cylinder-change-free.
