Law No. 7464 and tourism-purpose rentals
Under Law No. 7464, which came into force on 1 January 2024, a permit from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is required for "tourism-purpose rentals" of 100 days or fewer per stay. Licensed properties are subject to Law No. 1774 on identity notification.

What you need to know before deciding
The questions most often asked by hotel managers, rental operators, business owners, and building managers before purchasing — answered clearly and honestly.
Does the door still open if the internet or power goes out?
Yes. Smart Lock runs on batteries; even without internet it can be opened locally via Bluetooth (Nuki App or Keypad code). Because we do not replace the cylinder, your mechanical key always works too. Remote access and guest codes require Wi-Fi or Thread; the system re-syncs automatically when connectivity returns.
Will it fit my existing door? Do I need a locksmith?
On most standard European cylinders, Nuki mounts to the inside of the door without screws — the door, external cylinder, and exterior look remain unchanged. Share your cylinder type and we will confirm compatibility before installation. Most installations do not require a locksmith.
How do I revoke access when a staff member leaves?
From Nuki Web you revoke the relevant permission remotely and instantly — no physical key or card collection needed. Access closes immediately; the historical entry record stays in the log.
How many doors or rooms does it support? Does it scale?
It scales from a single apartment to a multi-room property or a portfolio of properties. All locks and permissions are managed centrally from a single Nuki Web account. Share your door/room count and we will size the installation together.
Does it work with my existing PMS or channel manager?
Very likely yes. Airbnb, Smoobu, Guesty, SabeeApp, RoomRaccoon, eviivo, Beds24, Hostaway, Duve, and Chekin are real integrations. If you use a system not on the list, it connects via the Short Rental API or Seam universal API. Tell us the name of your software and we will confirm compatibility.
How long does installation take? Will it disrupt my operation?
Hardware installation takes a few minutes per door and — because it is screwless — does not disrupt your operation; it can be rolled out room by room or unit by unit. Platform/PMS connection is done via Nuki Web. In Türkiye, installation and training are provided in Turkish by the official distributor, Teknora.
How are access data and KVKK compliance handled?
You manage your access records. We process personal data under the KVKK disclosure text and with your explicit consent. In scenarios requiring identity notification, integrations such as Chekin ease the process; legal compliance is the operator's responsibility — Nuki provides the operational infrastructure to support it.
What about pricing and return on investment (ROI)?
Hardware is a one-time investment; Smart Hosting Business starts from 69 € per year and can be tried free for 30 days.
